How these templates work
Each template opens our free invoice generator with example line items for that kind of work already filled in. Change the descriptions, quantities and rates to match your job, add your client, and download the invoice as a PDF, a Word file or an Excel file.
The example rates are placeholders to show the layout, not price advice — charge what fits your market and experience.
Your business details are saved in your browser and shared between all the templates, so you only type them once. Nothing is uploaded to us.
Don't see your trade?
Start with the blank invoice and add your own lines. If you charge by the hour, the hourly invoice template is a good general starting point. Want to price a job before you start? Use the quote template or the estimate template, then convert it into an invoice when the work is done.
Frequently asked questions
Are these invoice templates free?
Yes. Every template is free to use and download as often as you like, with no account and no watermark.
Can I change the example line items?
Yes. They're only a starting point. Edit or delete any line, add new ones, or click Clear example to start with an empty list.
Which format should I send to my client?
Send a PDF — it looks the same on every device and can't be changed by accident. Keep the Word or Excel file if you want to edit the invoice yourself later.
